: Hi Amir, well I'm really glad you made your first step! That was a good try, well done! Well, to tell you the truth I decided to leave my active role in the Wikipedia because of some trends some people try to impose adn that I couldn't accept. It happens to be some kind of linguistics fight sometimes.
Some people (even myself maybe) think they know the truth about how the language is supposed to be without even trying to listen to some other people arguments, or even try to take into consideration the current use of language. We thus have, in my opinion, strange positions in words like "brasilièr" (which has no tradition in Occitan, and "-ièr" is not normally used to create nationalities; but since you have "brasiler" in Catalan and "brasileiro" in Portuguese it seemed natural for at least one person to create such a linguistic "monster" without even paying attention to the fact than what I think should be the normal form "brasilian" can be found in many languages; that same person thinks that such a word is a Francism... The same could be said about "ebrieu" which indeed appears in Mistral but in my opinion has very little or no tradition in Occitan... Mistral often appears to be as some Godlike reason to impose a choice, I tend to have atheist and very skeptical positions. I, as some other people, (and I think the vast majority of people except the Wikipedian corrected people) use "ebrèu" which seems to be a more regular form and corresponds perfectly to the other Romance solutions (sp: hebreo, cat: hebreu, it:ebbreo (people not language), pt: hebreu (people not language)). I don't really understand these tensions (and sometimes it could be referred as obsessions) and well, we've had some real conflicts about all of this not so long ago and currently the relation I had which that person has been really distorted and I'm afraid I've lost his friendship even though I still consider him as a friend. I mean that I won't try to impose anything if you think "ebrieu" is the best choice you can use it, if you think otherwise just feel free to use what you deem should be the normal form. My considerations are based mainly in what I think is the more common use of language but I may be wrong. Well, take care and keep on doing such a good work. I'll check more on Internet to see if I can find some traces of the form "ebrieu" and see the frequencies of one or the other. Take care, have a good week!
